Stitch Instructions

Invisible Decrease

To create an Invisible Decrease start by inserting your hook into the front loop only of the next st. Then, instead of yarning over as in a standard decrease, insert your hook into the front loop only of the next st as well (3 loops on your hook).

Yarn over and pull through two loops.

Yarn over and pull through the remaining two loops.

Single Crochet in the Back Bumps

When you look at a chain stitch there are three loops. One is the “back loop”.

One is the “front loop”.

And, if you turn the chain over, you will see the third loops, known as the “back bump”.

To SC in the back bump, simply insert your hook into that loop and SC as normal. The benefit to this technique is that is creates a lovely finished edge to your piece.

Seamless Finish

Complete your last stitch, cut your yarn and pull up the loop. Thread the tail onto your tapestry needle. Skip one, insert your needle under both loops of the next stitch.

Insert your needle through the back loop only of the last stitch you crocheted.

Pull your yarn through to make a lovely seamless finish.
