Chocolate Chip Cookie Crochet Pattern

If you were a cookie, what cookie would you be? For me, I think I’d be a chocolate chip cookie. Traditional, comforting and always solves the problem! What about you?

I grew up baking cookies with my grandma on my dad’s side. We’d whip up what felt like hundreds of those delicious circles but it was probably only a few dozen at a time. :)

My dad even won a purple ribbon when he was growing up for his chocolate chip cookies! You could say that this recipe runs in my blood (and if you think I’m giving it away in this blog post you’re out of your mind!). But a crocheted homage to the recipe can be found below!

As you know, we’ve been crocheting our way through the alphabet and today is the letter C. I couldn’t think of a better “c” than chocolate chip cookies- what could possibly be better, really?

So let’s get baking- er- crocheting!

Stitch Instructions

Seamless Finish

Complete your last stitch, cut your yarn and pull up the loop. Thread the tail onto your tapestry needle. Skip one and insert your needle under both loops of the next stitch. Insert your needle through the back loop only of the last stitch you crocheted. Pull your yarn through to make a lovely seamless finish.

The Pattern

Cookie Body

Make 2

1- With the light brown yarn, create a magic ring with 6SC. (6)

2- 2SC x 6. (12)

3- [1 SC, 2SC] x 6. (18)

4- [2 SC, 2SC] x 6. (24)

5- [3 SC, 2SC] x 6. (30)

6- [1 SC, 2SC, 3 SC] x 6. (36)

7- [5 SC, 2SC] x 6. (42)

On one piece, cut your yarn and Seamless Finish (see Stitch Instructions).

On the other piece, finish off and leave a 24" tail for sewing.

Assembly

On one light brown piece, use your dark brown yarn to stitch the chocolate chips onto the right side of the piece.

With wrong sides together, use your long tail to whipstitch the pieces together until you have about 1.5 inches left open.

Stop and lightly stuff your cookie.

Finish whipstitching the piece closed and finish off, weaving your end into the bottom piece of the cookie.

This final step is the MOST IMPORTANT.

Sit back and admire your work! It looks amazing. You should be very proud!

Just a thought: you could try filling your cookies with a little sack of rice or pony beads for a unique sensory experience! I’ve done that as a baby birthday gift and it was a big hit!
